It’s not as dramatic as it might sound. It’s more of a tribute to pamuk.
Anyhow. First week of Istanbul was great. Interesting city, but everthing takes 2 hours to do if it’s just to buy a pen.
The big negative thing with this trip have been the last 4 days that I spent in bed suffering a stomach bug that more or less robbed me of the experience Istanbul.
So hopefully I’m getting well soon and can enjoy the last days. In any case it will be nice to come back to holland.
Cheers,
Anton

Snack bar a lá Netherlands
Skipped my voluntary dutch class and focused on some private dutch studying instead. Something I think was a good choice, the dutch course I went didn’t really help me that much.
Instead I now try to learn from what I hear everyday and practice some basics with a computer course called Rosetta Stone. And with risk of sounding as someone from their marketing department, the program is great.
It kind of sneaks in new words during the exercises, so when you an hour later finished a few parts you have learned a lot without realizing what. But days later you will find yourself recognizing words and sentences out on the street.
Good shit as a dear friend might say.
The picture is somewhat misguiding though, I have not been eating any patat today. Its merely an illustration of how dutch I feel.
